Workshop on early warning, crop modeling and yield forecasting Senegal

The workshop aims at hands-on training on the use of vegetation and weather indicators for crop or vegetation monitoring and early warning (2 days), as well as regional crop modeling and/or yield forecasting (2 days) and a final meeting with national stakeholders (1 day). Second Regional Workshop on Irrigated Agriculture
25-29 August 2014, Tunis, Tunisia [French/English]
In this second round of regional workshop focussed on the use of open remote sensing data and tools for irrigated agriculture (water resources abstraction, recharge assessments and evapotranspiration), many participants from the first round rejoin. They are now introduced to the new PROBA-V mission, the upcoming MSGToolbox software and get more acquainted with land use and land cover mapping with a variety of data sources.

Workshop on G-Range: a global rangeland model
19-23 May 2014, Arlon, Belgium  [English] 
The Université de Liège - Arlon Campus Environnement, in partnership with Colorado State University, organizes a 5-day course on the G-Range Rangelands Model. The training aims at providing a hands-on experience in G-Range, a global rangelands ecosystem model for simulating and forecasting production and carbon fluxes in rangelands. It is intended for PhD students and early-stage researchers in ecological modeling, agriculture and remote sensing.

Workshop on forest monitoring in the Mediterranean area

Regional Thematic Workshop East-Africa

The workshop targets at enhancing capacity of countries in the region to use remote sensing for agriculture and forest management. The workshop is built around the use cases devleoped in the AGRICAB project. Participants are required to have background knowledge on thematic applications of remote sensing for crop, livestock and forest or forest fire monitoring. Experience in GIS or Remote Sensing (notably image processing) and an interest in the GEONETCast low cost data sharing technology is considered an advantage.
